Fleet Maintenance Improvements

With a total review of your fleet operations, we demonstrate how to also improve reliability, minimize unscheduled breakdowns, and trim thousands of dollars from your maintenance budget.  We will negotiate more attractive pricing on the purchase of parts, lubricants, tires, and service contracts as applicable.  We help our customers to determine:

  • If the maintenance cost for the last twelve months are appropriate given the fleet engineering, application, age, fleet size, and operating geography.  
  • We do this by inspecting the fleet and comparing current inspected condition to annual spend for each vehicle.
  • The correct staffing and skill set of mechanics necessary for each shift.
  • How to best utilize the existing talents of the maintenance personnel and advise what training would aid staff expertise.
  • Develop a complete and customized preventative maintenance process based on all of the above
  • Create a plan to maximize the use of inventory and parts - with warranty recovery the key

We will visit each shop to determine if there is proper use of:

  1. Shop equipment - tools and fixtures
  2. Space utilization - taking keen look at layout and any limitations
  3. Shop information systems that integrate to company P&L
  4. Equipment scheduling for PM frequencies
  5. Shop administration
  6. Parts inventory levels to support work, with recommendations to alternative suppliers if necessary
